How to listen to Deezer offline

Deezer lets you save music to your device and play it without an internet connection. It all happens inside the official Deezer app — no extra tools needed.

What you need

• The Deezer app on your phone, tablet or computer.
• A Deezer plan that includes offline listening. The paid plans do; the free plan only streams.
• Enough free storage on your device for the music you want to keep.

Step by step

1. Open the Deezer app and sign in.
2. Find the playlist or album you want to keep — or open Favourite tracks.
3. Switch on Download. The app starts saving the tracks to your device.
4. Wait for the download to finish while you are still online.
5. Your saved music is in your library. It plays even in flight mode.

Downloads not working?

• Check your plan. On the free plan the Download switch is not available.
• Check your storage. The app needs free space to save the tracks.
• Stay online until it finishes. Downloads pause when the connection drops.
• Update the app. An old version of the app can fail to download.

Downloads stay in the app

Music you download this way plays only inside the Deezer app, and only while your plan is active. You cannot copy it out as MP3 files. If you want files you own, buy them from a music store, or see our guide to free and legal MP3s.
